Itinerary Overview
Day 1 – Tuxtla Gutiérrez · Sumidero Canyon · San Cristóbal de Las Casas
Arrival in Tuxtla Gutiérrez before 1:00 PM. Transfer to the dock for a shared boat tour through Sumidero Canyon, a dramatic natural wonder. Continue to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, a colonial town nestled in the highlands. Hotel check-in and free time to explore. Overnight stay.
Day 2 – El Chiflón Waterfalls · Montebello Lakes · Amatenango
Depart from San Cristóbal to visit the El Chiflón waterfalls, including the iconic “Velo de Novia.” Continue to the Montebello Lakes National Park, known for its multicolored lagoons. On the return, stop at Amatenango del Valle, a Tzeltal pottery village. Return to San Cristóbal. Overnight stay.
Day 3 – San Juan Chamula · Zinacantán · Tuxtla Gutiérrez
Morning visit to Chamula and Zinacantán, two Tzotzil indigenous communities. Experience local traditions, visit churches, and share a moment with a local family. Taste traditional drinks and handmade tortillas. Return to Tuxtla Gutiérrez Airport (arrival by 4:30 PM).
